81st Annual Academy Awards Best Movie Nominees for 2009

I have a sister and brother in law who have an annual Adademy Award tradition that I love. When the nominees for best picture are announced they set out to see each movie prior to the award ceremony. The night of the ceremony they make a special date of it discussing thier favorites and making bets on who they think will win. I have always loved the idea of this tradition and this year have set out to create my own version of it, recriuting my daughter and a couple of friends to commit to seeing the movies and participating in a casual Academy Awards night gathering. I will let you know the outcome and may just start a tradition of publishing an annual Academy Awards hub.

To date I have seen two of the movies nominated this year: Slumdog Millionaire and Frost/Nixon both of which were extraordinary in my opinion and I can see why each one was nominated. The nominees for best picture are:
